春日凝妝上翠樓。
忽見陌頭楊柳色，
悔教夫壻覓封侯。

The young wife, upon whom grief has not yet come,
On a spring day paints her face and climbs the emerald tower.
Suddenly she sees the willow-buds bursting along the path,
And sorrows that she has sent her husband to the wars.
